Palm Springs Film Festival Appearance

Saturday, November 15th, 2014

Love books and movies? Want to be in balmy Palm Springs in January? Then come join The Power of Words:  Book to Screen, a January 8th, 2015, event that is a new part of the superb Palm Springs International Film Festival. It’s an all day affair of literary panels and movies, discussing how books make it to screen. Among the talent speaking:  Author Mark Bowden and scriptwriter Ken Nolan, on their film Black Hawk Down; and writer Amy Jo Albany and producer Albert Berger on their film Low Down. I’ll be sharing a panel with the fantastic  Kaui Hart Hemmings, author of The Descendants and The Possibilities. A few of the films will be screened on January 7th, the night before the full day symposium.

Come join us. Should be fascinating.

March 18 appearance: Virginia Festival Of The Book

Sunday, March 13th, 2011

Looking forward to visiting the Virginia Festival of the Book in Charlottesville, Virginia. I’ve been asked to appear, with writers Kerry Reich and Ruth Pennebaker, on a lively-sounding panel entitled, “Novels Of Families: Eat, Laugh, Love” at 4pm on March 18, at the New Dominion Book Store, 404 East Main Street. Should be a hoot. Please join us. For complete details click here.

Chestnut Hill Book Festival

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Here’s a generous review of The Hundred-Foot Journey, encouraging Philadelphia area residents to come visit The Chestnut Hill Book Festival. The piece focuses largely on my Saturday appearance, but I assure you there is some really interesting talent appearing throughout the festival – such as M.K. Asante, Dennis Tafoya, Steve Poses, Leslie E. Banks, Solomon Jones, Merry Jones, Edward Petit, Sam Katz. To name just a few. I personally can’t wait to meet some of these fellow scribblers in the flesh and learn more about their work. Should be a fascinating hullabaloo. Come check them out with me.
